Characters Island is one of three applications the comes with eNipuna software Kit. It is a 3D computer game. Although, there are numerous computer games available in various languages, it's very rare to find a one in Sinhala language. Characters Island has been created to help the child understand the characters of English and Sinhala alphabet and the words created using those characters
It is with great humility that we introduce the Characters Island, which contains scenic backgrounds that attract children's minds, as the 1st 3D computer game in Sinhala language. Moreover, it has won the award for the Best Educational Software 2010 in eSwabhimani award ceremony organized by the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka and the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).
The game does not contain any images or activities that are inappropriate to the child's mind and the challenge for your child is to seek and find the correct character among many other characters scattered throughout an island. Once the child locates the correct character, he/she is awarded with a video containing words constructed with that character. The game is created in a challenging manner, so that if the child selects a wrong character, his/her chance to play the game is reduced. Once the child has located all alphabetic characters, child is promoted to the next level where he/she can fill in the blanks to create words.

Your child can self-lean all 36 Sinhala letters and words created using the letters which are taught at primary level.
Child has to walk all over the island and seek the targeted character and once the correct letter is found, the child is awarded with a video of a word that begins with the given character.
The player will get better at recognising letters as he/she has to find the correct letter among many incorrect ones.
If the child select an incorrect letter, he/she is unrewarded by reducing the play time, thus challenging the child.

'Primary Education Activities' is a computer program that has a range of educational activities which help children understand the various subjects they learn at school.
'Primary Education Activities' introduces 70 pre-writing activities to assist the child in writing characters. You can encourage the child to practice a few pre-wring activities a day, using any witing medium (Stylus & Slate, Pencil, Pen, Copy papers, Notebooks etc.), while the activity is being operated on the computer screen.
